After replacing compact fluorescent bulbs on a bathroom with LED light bulbs the new bulbs stay on very dimly at all times. When the switch is turned on they come on normally but when the switch is off they stay on dim. What causes this?
Here’s the culprit:
That little nightlight switch needs power at all time so there’s a constant trickle. That amount is enough to get a dimmable LED to light up whereas the same amount was not enough to light up the previous CFL bulbs.
The bonus is the soft glow at night in the bathroom is a nice nightlight.
